Zack Zavatsky

Zack’s wrestling journey began at age 5 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. After fully committing to wrestling in 8th grade, he became a four-year Division 1 starter for the Virginia Tech Hokies and a two-time All-American. Zack graduated in 2019 with a degree in Packaging Science and works in Supply Chain for Corning, Inc. He relocated to Raleigh in 2022 and is driven to establish an elite wrestling club in the Triangle Area, drawing inspiration from highly successful clubs he was a member of growing up. Zack works with kids of all skill levels, pushing them to become the best version of themselves on and off the mats. Beyond corporate work and wrestling, he enjoys staying physically active and working on projects at his house. Zack firmly believes wrestling teaches valuable life lessons and looks forward to sharing them with athletes in North Carolina, hoping to create similar opportunities through the sport.

Dom Scalise

Dom began wrestling in 2004 when he discovered Latrobe, PA’s Junior Olympic wrestling program through a flyer. He and his father developed a deep passion for the sport, leading Dom to fully commit to wrestling by 8th grade. This dedication paid off with a successful high school career, earning him a spot at the University of Virginia, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2018. After college, he embarked on a career in Tech in San Francisco but later moved to Raleigh to start a life with his wife, Claire, whom he married in September 2022. Professionally, he serves as a Technical Account Manager for WalkMe, Inc., while outside of work, he enjoys spending time with Claire and their cats, Bud and Willow, as well as indulging in golf and video games.

Matt Fields

Matt Fields began his wrestling journey at age 5 with the North Royalton youth program in Ohio and committed fully to the sport starting in sixth grade. After a successful high school career, he continued wrestling at North Carolina State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2022. He remained in the Triangle area and enrolled at Campbell University's School of Law in Raleigh, graduating with his JD in spring 2025. Wrestling has profoundly shaped Matt's life, influencing his professional aspirations and instilling values he now seeks to pass on to future athletes, inspired by the impact of his own coaches.

Nikola Mirkovic

Nikola joined the sport of wrestling during high school in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He continued his athletic journey at Williams College where he competed on both the wrestling mat and football field. At Williams, he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology. In addition, Nikola has earned an MBA from Boston University and a Masters in Biomedical Science from Rutgers University. Alongside Nikola’s professional career managing clinical trials for biotech companies, he has over 10 years of experience coaching wrestling and football at both the collegiate and high school levels. Nikola attributes a great deal of his successes to the life lessons he learned in athletics and hopes to pass those lessons on to the next generation of athletes.

Paige Nemec

Paige Nemec began wrestling at age 5 in Ohio, competing on boys’ teams and making history as the first female wrestler in the state to surpass 100 wins and qualify for the Ohio High School State Tournament. She became a two-time Folkstyle National Champion, a two-time First-Team ASICS All-American, and earned three bronze medals at the USAW Junior Women’s Freestyle National Tournament in Fargo. Paige pursued soccer in college, earning a degree in chemistry from Lake Erie College, and later completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at NC State. She now works in gene therapy as the Director of Translational Medicine at Atsena Therapeutics. After coaching the Apex High School girls’ wrestling team, she is excited to continue growing the sport at TWA, helping wrestlers develop on and off the mat. Outside of work and coaching, she enjoys training for triathlons, CrossFit, and hiking with her husband and two dogs.

Ed Scott

Ed Scott grew up in DuBois, Pennsylvania, where he began wrestling at age 4. The sport quickly became central to his life, leading him to compete in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman. He was a two-time PIAA state champion, a Fargo Greco finalist, and earned a gold medal for Team USA at the Junior Pan Am Games. At NC State, Ed wrestled for five years, starting one season at 149 pounds and four at 157 pounds. During his collegiate career, he became a two-time ACC Champion, four-time NCAA qualifier, and earned All-American honors. Now training with the Wolfpack Regional Training Center, Ed focuses on his freestyle goals while giving back to the sport he loves. Whether it's learning technique, building confidence, or just having fun on the mat, he's passionate about helping young athletes grow. When he's not wrestling, you can usually find him outdoors with his dog, rock climbing, or playing guitar.
